The house is finished and the ground around it is bare. The first question is always the same: what will it cost? The short answer: a full garden design starts at 6,500 zł, and for a plot up to 250 m² we usually do a simplified design at 2,500–4,500 zł. The garden itself, built to a mid-range specification, comes to 150–350 zł per square metre. All prices include VAT. Below are the details, worked through on plots of different sizes, with no “it depends”.

Five plots, five prices

Treat these as a guide: we price your plot separately, after the first conversation.

Plot Complexity Design
290 m² simple 6,500 zł
500 m² moderate 9,500 zł
600 m² complex 12,500 zł
1,500 m² complex 16,000 zł
3,000 m² moderate but large 18,000 zł

The area includes the house: we design the garden around it, and the house appears on the plans and visuals.

No rate per square metre

The price depends on how much of the plot we work out in full detail and how complex it is. The design for a 3,000 m² plot comes to about 18,000 zł even if all you need is a terrace and paving: we plan the whole plot in the same detail and draw the paving pattern by hand. What pushes the price of a design up: the lie of the land (a slope or a change of level), the number and complexity of the areas, the paving (a simple layout or a detailed pattern), services (lighting, irrigation, drainage) and special features: a pond, a green roof, fencing, garden structures.

Plots up to 250 m²

We take these on too. Usually it is a simplified design at 2,500–4,500 zł: layout and sketch, paving areas, lighting, plants and a planting plan. No 3D: we price that separately. We adjust the scope to what you need.

What 6,500 zł includes

A conversation on site. A survey and analysis: levels, water, light, wind, the views beyond the fence. A concept design with a layout, a sketch and 3D. A detailed design covering planting, paving, lighting and automatic irrigation. An itemised specification showing the brand, quantity and price of every item. A maintenance guide.

Priced separately: a green roof, a pond, a play structure, fencing and garden structures built to our drawings. Design supervision of the build is a separate item too.

What the garden itself costs

The build is priced from the drawings, once the build team has seen the plot for themselves, so there is no exact figure before the design exists. Anyone who quotes over the phone will be recalculating later.

As a guide, per square metre, for labour and mid-range materials:

What we do zł per m²
Groundwork, lawn, planting 150–350
Plus paving, drainage, irrigation, lighting from 300
Pergolas, water features, more elaborate lighting, large plants 500–1,000 and above

A 300–400 m² plot built to a mid-range specification typically comes to 150,000–200,000 zł. We give that figure in the first conversation. Materials can be simpler or more expensive, and the budget moves with them. The build can also be done in stages: levels, drainage, services and paving first, then the plants and details.

Plants are priced individually. A young amelanchier costs about 300 zł, a large one up to 4,000 zł. You approve the planting schedule with its prices during the design stage, before the build, and there is no “miscellaneous” line in it.

The honest downside

We have only a few projects on at any one time, so each one gets the time it needs. A conversation in July usually means a garden for the following summer. If your deadline is tight, we would rather say so plainly in the first conversation than promise and then push the dates back.

Two paths after the design

The first: in Warsaw and the surrounding area our own crews build the garden, the designer is on hand and the result is our responsibility. The second: you build it yourself or with your own contractors, and we hand over the full design and explain the drawings. The second path is cheaper by the cost of supervision, but a design without its author usually turns into a watered-down version of itself: the contractor trims what is difficult, swaps a material for a familiar one, straightens a line. Each is a small thing on its own; together they eat away at the idea.

How we start

A 30-minute conversation online, free of charge and with no site visit: we look at the plot on a map and give you a price range. Then a contract and a 50% deposit for the design, with the site survey after the deposit. You approve the concept and pay the balance before the detailed design is handed over. We price the build from the finished design. The whole design process takes about two months.

To make the conversation useful, three things are enough: the plot address, photos of the house or its plan and one sentence about what you want from the garden in the evening, when you step out onto the terrace.
